This is the new english patch for the game 'RockMan EXE Operate Shooting Star'. It has FULL GAME TRANSLATION to English. Patch Notes: - Game name translated to 'MegaMan Battle Network Operate Star Force' - All text and graphics are in English for Battle Network and Star Colo!
(Download play client copy of Star Colo is unfortunately still Japanese.) - Script changes and fixes made in the Japanese version of the game are ported to the English script. Many typos and mistranslations in the original BN1 script are fixed. Original BN1 translation edited to be more consistent with later BN games. Additional localization on various maps. Minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

To the dismay of some, Capcom has chosen not bring to America Rockman EXE: Operate Shooting Star, the 'enhanced' port of the original Mega Man Battle Network. However, that's not enough to keep one fan down. A buddy of mine is toying with the notion of translating OSS into English.
However, before work can begin on a patch, he'd like to know if this is something the community would want, otherwise it's not really worth the effort. So, question for you is, would you like an English patch for OSS? The process of creating a patch would take at least three to four months, he notes. Most of the work involves lifting the script from the original GBA game, making the necessary changes, and translating the new material introduced in OSS that wasn't present in the original game (new dialog, new chips, etc.). Again, this will only happen if he sees quite a bit of positive reception to the idea.

What do you think? Sound off in the comments! (on the blog). To be honest, i think there are better games to translate on GBA if you're going to put the effort into it. Of course, this is just a script swap.
But in all honesty, the game is just so similar to the GBA game, it's hardly worth it. I'd take it and be grateful if given it, but if it's too much trouble, i wouldn't bother with it. The enhancements were kind of nice, such as running in battles (with a button, not a chip) as well as the new internet map. Right now though, if i play the game, i always go for the GBA version since it IS translated.
Nothing in the DS release really catches my eye enough to trudge through a guide to get through the text. I'm not finding myself in constant want for the DS version at all.

I have heard the GBA localizations were butchered somewhat, but it's still completely unnecessary. There's not really anything special about the DS port, besides being for DS and having that minor crossover. The crossover isn't even done well. I'd not even bother with it, and i doubt anyone will pick it up to translate.

There doesn't seem to be much interest in translating these Megaman RPG's. There was one on GBA, 4.5 Real Operation, that was Japan only and never got a translation (one was planned but abandoned). Really though, the port was cheaply made and a cop out.

Capcom's laziness at its finest. They could have made the game truly unique and great, especially with the crossover thing, but they didn't.

Click to expand. That was like a random, little mini-rant that was going on about nothing anybody said-especially Sanderino I feel the need to answer lol The first game was hardly extensive-you could only upgrade your Mega Buster & HP and buy 3 armors pieces out of the entire game. It was straightforward, barely any side missions besides exploring by jacking into random objects.

That's why Sanderino said ' If you played MMBN1 you would know what's going to happen n' stuff.' Yes, millions of fans, so what?

Obviously thousands don't know Japanese, why else do we have these threads? Yes, but butchering everything has nothing to do w/ Sanderino talking only about the new Clock Man part. Not sure what the 'theory' was for, but of course a noob wouldn't brag about something he/she didn't do.
Zwah, I'm not pushing for a translation; just wanted to address this.
